PONDER

Waiting upon the Lord means pondering in our hearts and “receiv[ing] the Holy Ghost” so that we can know “all things what [we] should do” (2 Nephi 32:5).

ponder |ˈpändər|
verb [ with obj. ]think about (something) carefully, esp. before making a decision or reaching a conclusion:

What to ponder?I have so many questionswhere does one start?
For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do. (2 Nephi 32:5).

~enter in by the way(baptism)~receive the Holy Ghost(confirmation)
I really believe I have followed the counsel.I really desire the Lord's ways.At the time, I really believed I was being shownwhat I should do.
PONDER TODAYwhat I replay over in my head:
Lucifer is the great imitator of TRUTHLucifer appeared to Korihor in the form of an ANGELEven the very elect will be deceivedKnowing this, what hope do I have? Some, having walked close to the Lordwere led astray.
How then can I know the TRUTHof Heavenly Father's Way?
This is what I will PONDER

Walk the Wilderness With Me

One day,
I Walked alone
with iTunes blaring on my iPhone.
The battery power  ceased
but the power of Silence began.

The rhythm of my steps:

Wake,Walk, Wonder, Wait,
Wake,Walk, Wonder, Wait,
Wake,Walk, Wonder, Wait,,

I love Words,
Writing,
alliteration...
and the Words I longed for Were His.

This slideshow Was the result of that
Walk in the Wilderness.

Walk the Wilderness With Me

Wake
With thoughts of Him
Wrest upon His Words
Wishing His thoughts to be
Whispered upon my heart
Walk, I hope in His Ways
Watch for opportunities
Wondering
Will He Walk the Wilderness With me
Wave to passerbys
Who have also come to
Witness the
Wonders of His
World, His magnificent creations
Wildlife
Wildflowers
Waterfalls
Water like glass
Wellsprings of His grandeur
Wondering
Will, His Father's none other
Would I do the same...to the
Weary
With His touch He lifts
Wallowing
Willingly, He offers hope
Weeping
Weeps a tear of empathy and then
Wipes them away
Wanderers
With His tenderness He gathers
Willful, He leads
Weak, He beckons
Walk on, I will give you strength
Wade into shallow Waters
Warmth of the sun
Washes over me
Waves
Wet and cool to refresh
Wondering, He
Who Walked onWater
Wanting to know just how
Wisdom
Wonderful conversations and
Words to
Whisk our minds away to greater depths
Whole
When We are here together
Winds of change blow
Whitecaps upon the calm
Wide is the diversity
Where balance is maintained
Weathering storms build character
Work
What is required for greatness
Wondering at the
Water's edge
When
When Will He come
Wait a little longer
Watercolors of sunsets paint the sky
Wish upon one bright star
While contemplation reveals
Worthy, yet oh so small in comparison
With God's majestic omniscience
Watch and be ready
Wait upon Him
Wake to another day
Walk a thousand steps
Wonder a thousand gifts
Wait for the thousand years

Wake,Walk, Wonder, Wait,
Wake,Walk, Wonder, Wait

Pray as the Savior Did

My seed of faith is planted.
The instructions continue:
Alma 32:37
"... Let us nourish it with great care, that it may get root, that it may grow up, and bring forth fruit unto us. And now behold, if ye will nourish it with much care it will get root, and grow up, and bring forth fruit."

Caution: doi not neglect the seed.
Even a good seed will not take root,
but wither and die without care and nourishment.

How does one nourish a seed of faith?
Alma 32:40
1) nourish with the word of God
2) look forward with an eye of faith
3) be diligent
4) have patience

Remember: Faith without works
is dead.

The next part of waiting on the Lord
suggests praying as the Savior did.
What can I glean from the Savior's example of prayer
 and the scriptures referenced:

Luke 11:1-4
1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Pray to my Heavenly Father
Seeking HIS WILL
(not praying for Him to grant my will)

Heavenly knows I need forgiveness
and as He forgives me
I must also others
every single person is in need
of His forgiveness and Jesus' atonement

Heavenly Father knows
I will have temptation
and so I can plead for
deliverance from evil.

Help Your Children

There is so much confusion and turmoil...
hearts are breaking,
lives are ending,
people are leaving...
rather than building and gathering,
your children are arguing, belittling, demeaning and blaming You...
the very creator of all and the giver of peace.

All struggling and seeking to know
Your will and Your Plan
in this very delicate matter.

I am not surprised...
early on I studied and learned of the winding up scenes
and it appears that humanity is right on course.

Maybe this is the sifting process...
Who knows what purpose will unfold in all of this.

I do know
I love Christ more than I could ever express.
I do know
I want to be sifted on His side
doing His will and His Glory.
I do know
Lucifer knows his time is short
and has his own incredulous but most destructive work to do
to enslave as many
of God's children
as possible.
I do know
that Lucifer is the great imitator of truth,
which makes this whole process tricky.
I do know
that even the very elect will be deceived.
I do know we all have trials and challenges
to overcome.
I do know
I cannot fix this,
but Jesus can
if we will but get out of His.
I do know
that I can pray
for God's will to be hastened
whatever that maybe

I hope I have stood for Christ...

I do find it interesting
that so many wish to blame God
and even deny a God exists.
In Moses 1:39
"For behold, this is my work and my glory
to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man."
He only wants what will bring eternal joy.
Christ came to do the Will of His Father in Heaven
He is known as the
Savior

What about Satan whose sole purpose and mission is to have all be miserable like unto himself
"And thus we see the end of him who perverteth the ways of the Lord;
and thus we see that the devil will not support his
children at the last day, but doth speedily drag them down to hell."
Alma 30:60
He is known as the
Destroyer

What about accountability?
26 And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given.
27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
 28 And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit;
29 And not choose eternal death, according to the will of the flesh and the evil which is therein, which giveth the spirit of the devil power to captivate, to bring you down to hell, that he may reign over you in his own kingdom.
After yesterday's exchange,
contention amongst some took root.
I sometimes wonder,
if Christ's heart breaks all over again...
29 "For verily, verily I say unto you, he that hath the spirit of contention is not of me, but is of the devil, who is the father of contention, and he stirreth up the hearts of men to contend with anger, one with another.

30 Behold this is not my doctrine, to stir up the hearts of men with anger, one against another..."
How much longer ?

Plant Seed of Faith

Yesterday,
I learned the "HOWS" to wait upon the Lord.
Each item on the list,
is a subject of study in and of itself.
I am reminded:
It is by the small and simple acts
that the GREAT can come to pass.

So we begin at the water's edge

First item: Plant a seed of FAITH

21 And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.

26 Now, as I said concerning faith—that it was not a perfect knowledge—even so it is with my words. Ye cannot know of their surety at first, unto perfection, any more than faith is a perfect knowledge.
27 But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.
28 Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves—It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.

Wait Upon the Lord

 2 Nephi 18:11-13
was just a sampling of spiritual nurturing.
Yesterday, I promised myself to return to
"Wait upon the Lord"...
words from 2 Nephi 18:17  intrigued me.
The commentary included words from Elder Hales
that spoke to my pain:

2 Nephi 18:17. “I Will Wait upon the Lord”

  • Elder Robert D. Hales of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke of the spiritual strength that follows when we place our trust in the Lord:
“As we put our faith and trust in the Lord, we must battle our pain day by day and sometimes hour by hour, even moment by moment; but in the end, we understand that marvelous counsel given to the Prophet Joseph Smith as he struggled with his pain of feeling forgotten and isolated in Liberty Jail:
    “‘My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
“‘And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes’ (D&C 121:7–8).
“My dear brothers and sisters, when pain, tests, and trials come in life, draw near to the Savior. ‘Wait upon the Lord, … look for him’ (Isaiah 8:17; 2 Nephi 18:17). ‘They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint’ (Isaiah 40:31). Healing comes in the Lord’s time and the Lord’s way; be patient” (in Conference Report, Oct. 1998, 19; or Ensign, Nov. 1998, 17).

    "...look for him"
(oh I look for Him and I have long awaited His glorious return)
    but how does one
    "Wait upon the Lord?"
this search led me to continued words of Elder Robert D. Hales
    from the New Era
    adapted from October 2011 Conference

"How to Wait on the Lord"
    https://www.lds.org/youth/article/how-to-wait-on-the-lord?lang=eng
What does it mean to wait upon the Lord? In the scriptures, the word wait means to hope, to anticipate, and to trust. To hope and trust in the Lord requires faith, patience, humility, meekness, long-suffering, keeping the commandments, and enduring to the end.

To wait on the Lord means planting the seed of faith and nourishing it (see Alma 32:41).

It means praying as the Savior did—to God, our Heavenly Father—saying: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done” (Matthew 6:10; Luke 11:2). It is a prayer we offer with our whole souls in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Waiting upon the Lord means pondering in our hearts and “receiv[ing] the Holy Ghost” so that we can know “all things what [we] should do” (2 Nephi 32:5).

Waiting upon the Lord means to “stand fast” (Alma 45:17) and “press forward” in faith, “having a perfect brightness of hope” (2 Nephi 31:20).

It means “relying alone upon the merits of Christ” (Moroni 6:4) and “with [His] grace assisting [us, saying]: Thy will be done, O Lord, and not ours” (D&C 109:44).

As we wait upon the Lord, we are “immovable in keeping the commandments,” (Alma 1:25) knowing that we will “one day rest from all [our] afflictions” (Alma 34:41). And we “cast not away . . . [our] confidence” (Hebrews 10:35) that “all things wherewith [we] have been afflicted shall work together for [our] good” (D&C 98:3).

From Fear to Faith

A moment of worry and fear towards
 the other lost and wandering
greet me in the morning.
I have forgotten already
"When thou art converted..."
I cannot be a rescuer if I have not been rescued,
healed and strengthened by the good words of God.

Fear enraptures and encompasses the weak.
I allow the debilitating effects of fear to distract me from peace.
In moments of weakness,
I feed those thoughts of fear
rather than allowing the nourishment of the milk
to provide sustenance.
Those thoughts become a stumbling block and I fall.

Truly the Shepherd knows His sheep.
He senses my fears.
I am still weak with distraction.
2 Nephi 18: 11-13

11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying:

13 Sanctify the Lord of Hosts himself, and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

I seek a bit of clarification about words
confederacy, sanctify...
(Compare Isaiah 8)
A brief synopsis in between the passages remind me:

-The Lord is in Control
-The Lord: a Sanctuary
-Trust in the Scriptures and the Lord's Prophet
The message and milk for today
Find refuge and peace in my Sanctuary
the Lord,
my Shepherd.
Give the Lord my worries, my fears, my dreads
Have Faith
Trust He is in control
